# gthb: GitHub's most-starred repositories, indexed for AI assistants

> A requirement-first index of GitHub's top 5,699 repositories (10K+ stars) and 5,353 Agent Skills, so an assistant without MCP or GitHub API access can pick a repo, the right part of its code, or a skill, and fetch it with plain HTTP GET. This file is a small router; follow its links.

How to use:

1. Match the requirement against "Quick picks" below. If nothing fits, open the one category file you need: the detailed 50K+ file first, then the compact 10K+ file for niche tools.
2. In a detailed entry, GET the **Read:** links in order: agent files (AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, llms.txt) first, then README, then docs. **Code map** lists top-level folders by size; `packages/{core, cli}` means `packages/core/` and `packages/cli/` exist.
3. Fetch any file at `https://raw.githubusercontent.com/<owner>/<repo>/<branch>/<path>`; the branch is in each entry.
4. For agent capabilities, open /developers/skills/index.md, then the per-repo skills file. Each skill lists its trigger description, raw SKILL.md link and the other files in its folder, so a multi-file skill can be fetched without listing directories; a list ending "+N more" links the skill folder for the rest.
5. Don't load /developers/llms-full.txt into context; it is the whole index in one file for grep or offline use.

Data: 531 repos with 50K+ stars (374 with editorial notes, 157 auto-indexed) and 5168 repos with 10K–50K stars. Star counts, licenses, topics and pushed dates from the GitHub Search API on 2026-10-28; the original list came from star-history/star-history `gh/star.db`. File trees, agent files and 5353 Agent Skills were read from GitHub on 2026-10-28/30. Renamed repos are merged under their current name. Licenses: check before reusing code.
