A GitHub index for AI agents

This is a plain-text index of GitHub’s most-starred repositories, written for AI coding agents. It follows the llms.txt convention, so an agent with no GitHub token, gh CLI or MCP server can choose the right project and fetch its docs, code or agent skills with a single HTTP GET. It covers 5,699 repositories with 10,000+ stars, 531 of them with detailed 50,000+ star entries, and 5,353 agent skills from 180 of those repositories.

Each detailed entry gives stars, language, license, what the project is good for, links to its agent instruction files (AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, llms.txt) ahead of the README.md, a compact map of its source folders, and any MCP servers and SKILL.md files it ships. A “Quick picks” section maps common needs, such as running a local LLM or parsing PDFs, to the best few repositories.

Files

File What it holds
llms.txt Start here. A small router with the usage guide, quick picks by requirement, and links to every other file.
SKILL.md An agent skill that teaches a coding agent when and how to use the index.
skills/index.md Index of the SKILL.md files found in the indexed repositories, with one file per repository.
llms-full.txt The full index in one large file, for curl and grep or offline use.

Per-category files are also available: detailed entries for 50,000+ star repositories (for example 50k/ai-coding.md) and compact lists of 10,000+ star repositories (for example gthb-10k/devtools.md). Every skill in one file is at gthb-skills.md.

Use it with a coding agent

Don’t paste the whole index into a prompt. Point your agent at the router and let it fetch only the section or file it needs:

When choosing an open-source library, finding an MCP server, or looking for a
framework's official SKILL.md, fetch https://gautamparab.com/developers/llms.txt
first and follow its links. Fetch only the files you need.

To install the skill in Claude Code, save it to your skills folder:

mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/gthb
curl -fsSL https://gautamparab.com/developers/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/gthb/SKILL.md

Other agents that support skills can use the same file in their own skills folder.
